Nominations Open For The Taite Music Prize 2021

Nominations are now open for the Taite Music Prize 2021 – for Kiwi artists who released an album in 2020.

Organised by Independent Music NZ, the entry form for the main prize can be found here. The entry deadline is February 8, 2021 and you can find the T&C here

Named after the late music journalist Dylan Taite, the prize’s purpose is to recognise outstanding creativity for an entire collection of music contained on one album. The winner will receive a cash prize of $12,500 and recording time at Red Bull Studios in Auckland.

Alongside that announcement the winner of the Auckland Live Best Independent Debut award will be announced. The nomination info for that can be found here (note this award is only open to IMNZ members).

Forced online in the year of Covid the 2021 Taite Music Prize is scheduled to be celebrated on Tuesday April 20. Three other awards will be presented on the night; the IMNZ Classic Record Award, the Independent Spirit Award and the Auckland Live Best Independent Debut Award
