Do you know any artists right at the start of their career who have potential for a full time career in the arts? Then tell them about Springboard.
Entering its second round the Arts Foundation’s Springboard programme aims to kick start arts careers for up to half a dozen artists in Aotearoa each year. Recipients are gifted $15,000, alongside a partnership with a senior artist mentor from the alumni of Arts Foundation Laureates, Icons, New Generation, Residency or Fellowship recipients.
Mentors are remunerated with $5,000, and an additional $5,000 is dedicated toward associated costs, making the total award value $25,000. 2020 was the inaugural year with six Springboard packages awarded.
The selection process focuses on awarding creatives with outstanding potential who want to start careers in a variety of arts disciplines. The financial, mentoring and resource support system will be designed to have a significant impact on their growth and development as artists.
Nominations are now open for up to six mentor packages kickstarting sustainable arts careers in 2021. The application process closes Monday 14 December. More info here.
