NZ On Air Music have announced results of the November 2022 NewMusic Single funding round for which they received 217 applications.

Up to $10,000 will be provided for 35 songs to be released in coming months. The funding supports artists’ recording, video, and promotion costs – aiming to help their work reach audiences in Aotearoa and beyond.

Out of those 35 artists, there are six first-time NewMusic Single funding recipients. 60% of the funded artists identify as female, female-led, gender-diverse, or as mixed-gender groups.

The judging panel consisted of Amy Tempero, Cushla Aston, Hunter Keane, Karl Lock, Leonie Hayden, Martyn Pepperell, and Jeff Newton (NZ On Air).
