2022 Student Radio Network Awards Results

The Student Radio Network (which includes 95bFM, Radio Control 99.4FM, Radio Active 88.6FM, RDU 98.5FM, and Radio One 91FM) celebrated their own with the 2022 Student Radio Network Awards held on November 19, honouring the musicians, broadcasters and volunteers who breathe life into their stations.

Live streamed from five locations around Aotearoa and simulcast on all partnered stations, the awards featured live performances and artist appearances, with the eight national awards decided by PDs of each SRN station.

The music-focused results were:

  • Favourite Single: Fazerdaze Come Apart
  • Favourite Song featuring Te Reo Māori: How Get – Te Tai Pari
  • Favourite EP/Mixtape: Mokotron – ‘Tawhito’
  • Favourite Album: The Big Fresh Collective – ‘Footmahi 2022’ 
  • Favourite Solo Act: Rubi Du
  • Favourite Group: Hans Pucket
  • 95bFM’s Favourite Song: Half Hexagon –Ism
  • Radio Control’s Favourite Song: Cones – Cone Creek
  • Radio Active’s Favourite Song: Clear Path Ensemble – Absolvo
  • RDU’s Favourite Song: Violet French and The Horrible – Pop Pop Pop
  • Radio One 91FM: L Hotel – See You Later (Suzy Cato Cover)

Legendary Palmerston North recording and rehearsal space, The Stomach (Creative Sounds Society), was honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award.

And finally, the SRN audience voted Te KuraHuia as the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
