Entries for the 2018 Silver Scroll Awards are open during NZ Music Month. Included are the APRA Silver Scroll, the Maioha Award, SOUNZ Contemporary Award, Best Original Music in a Feature Film Award and Best Original Music in a Series Award.

First awarded in 1965 the APRA Silver Scroll Award recognises outstanding achievement in the craft of songwriting. Created in 2003 the Maioha award celebrates excellence in popular Māori composition, while the SOUNZ Contemporary Award rewards Kiwi creativity and inspiration in composition.

The Silver Scroll Award evening returns to Auckland after tripping to Dunedin last year and will be staged at Spark Arena on Thursday, October 4.
