Australian roots-rock act John Butler Trio is the first major artist from outside New Zealand to join the Kiwi-made ‘digital box set’-style album app Lume.

Lume are releasing a 25th anniversary version of the multi-ARIA Award winning trio’s breakout album ‘Three’, along with a trove of unreleased material, and a four-part podcast exclusive to the release. 

“I’m really excited to be working with Lume with the intention to create a more personal, immersive and satisfying experience for all the amazing fans who love my music,” says Butler. 

The digital platform has also announced its first physical collaboration – working with pioneering Auckland vinyl pressing plant and label Holiday Records on a bundle which packages a 20th anniversary edition of Lawrence Arabia’s debut album across both vinyl and Lume. 

‘4EPs’, the split vinyl-release EP by four emerging Dunedin artists which charted on its original issue  is also getting its first digital release on Lume, along with a trio of releases from Christchurch’s Winegum Records, including Mousey’s 2024 album ‘The Dreams of Our Mother’s Mothers’, Goodwill’s ‘Kind Hands’ and Tom Lark’s ‘Brave Star’.
