‘Make a bop, in your bubble.’ Bubble Bop is a brand new 24-hour music making competition for young NZ creatives, presented by Massey University‘s student-led creative initiative Something Something.

The challenge is to create a unique and outstanding piece of music. Think Tik Tok earworms. But there is a twist. Your track must be 100% composed, recorded and finished inside 24 hours. Submissions will be judged by Benee, Soaked Oats, Sachi plus a panel of industry professionals.

Bubble Bop kicks off 12pm on Saturday June 13 with the finished tracks due in by midday Sunday June 14. You can enter ONE of three categories – the winners from each category taking home $1000:

  • Pop / R&B
  • Indie
  • Remix

The Bubble Bop competition is open to anyone in the NZ bubble but in particularly it’s aimed at tertiary and high school students. Only individuals can enter but you can have guest performances, appearances, cameos and help from other people within your bubble. If your dog can sing get them in on your bop.

Applications are open now and you can stay up to date via the Bubble Bop Facebook Event page here.
