Creative New Zealand has announced the six 2021 music scholars chosen to receive help with international professional development opportunities.
This year’s scholarship recipients were:
Edwin Carr Foundation Scholarship
- Kirsten Storm – towards a Master of Music in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
- Reuben Jelleyman – towards a second year of a Master’s in Composition at the Conservatoire de Paris, France.
New Zealand/Aotearoa Music Scholarship
- Claudia Tarrant-Matthews – towards a Professional Diploma in Violin Performance at the Royal Academy of Music, London
- Dominic Jacquemard – towards Master of Music in Percussion at Het Conservatorium van Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Jack McGill Music Scholarship
- Chun-An Hsu – towards a Master of Arts in Musical Direction & Coaching at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
- Matthias Balzat – towards a Master of Music in Cello at Robert Schumann Hochschule für Musik, Düsseldorf.
