Auckland UNESCO City of Music have announced the inaugural Young Gig Makers Grant. 

The new programme has been established to support up and coming event organisers and musicians in presenting all-ages concerts in Auckland. Ten grants will be awarded, each valued at $500, with an additional $2500 value per grant in the form of technical support from Auckland Live. 

The grants are designed for Aucklanders aged between 16 and 25 who are musicians, music event organisers or music gig promoters. The aim  is to provide opportunities for participation in music events for young people which reflect the culture of Auckland and raise awareness of Auckland being a UNESCO City of Music. 

Applications close April 30, with projects starting after June 1 and to be completed by December 2021.
