Anzac blues legend Kevin Borich is returning home to play with Garth Hudson of The Band and a host of Kiwi musicians on The Last Waltz 40th Anniversary Concert which tours the country in late November.
Raised in West Auckland, Borich became one of the country’s first guitar heros as part of the La De Das on late 1960s hits like How is The Air Up There, On Top of the World and Hey Baby.
Having based itself in Australia from 1968, the band eventually split in the mid 1970s with Borich becoming a fixture of the Oz rock live circuit with bands like the Party Boys and the Kevin Borich Express.
The Last Waltz 40th Anniversary show features Garth Hudson, Sister Maud Hudson, John Simon, Kevin Borich, Tami Neilson, Barry Saunders, Delaney Davidson, Paul Ubana Jones, Adam McGrath, Brett Adams, Dianne Swann, Dave Khan, Mike Hall, Wayne Bell, Peter Dasent, Paddy Milner.
It plays at Christchurch’s Isaac Theatre Royal on November 22; Wellington’s Opera House on November 23, Auckland’s Civic on November 24.
