As reported in the last NZM Update, Sam Taylor who is the guitar voice for Nadia Reid (among others), has recently started work at SAE in Auckland as Audio Head of Department.
Now it seems that the SAE Campus Director, Dr Suzette Major, may just be on a mission to form an industry-besting SAE band.
The institute’s latest announcement reveals that Lani Purkis, bass player for Elemeno P, has been appointed as Student Support Officer, and the drummer from Yoko-Zuna, Swap Gomez, is the new Student Enrolment Officer. The ‘new band plan’ doesn’t stop there with Claire Duncan (pictured above), who has made albums with musical projects Dear Time’s Waste and more lately i.e. crazy, is the new Campus Administrator.
“With the advancement of technology most musicians are now also engineers and producers,” says Ms Major. “But what a fantastic place to work when my biggest problem is keeping track of where in the world my staff are playing next, or who’s winning a musical award this week!”
