UNIFIED Music Group has announced its expansion into NZ with the appointment of veteran musician and artist manager Matt Harvey in the role of Senior Artist Manager.
UNIFIED is an independently owned Australian multi-service music company, with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, USA, Toronto and London. The NZ connection signals a commitment to the local music industry, focused on providing infrastructure and development opportunities to help local artists grow and thrive on a global scale.
First gaining local and international attention as half of the award-winning Kiwi drum & bass outfit Concord Dawn, Harvey brings over two decades of experience to the role. He spent a decade based in Vienna, working the global club circuit, before returning to Aotearoa in 2016, transitioning from a self-managed artist to running his own artist management company, Southeast.
Harvey joins UNIFIED with a roster of established talent that includes Shapeshifter, Mim Jensen, Jon Toogood and beatmaker and DJ world champion Spell.
“It’s incredibly exciting to join an organisation that invests in its people and embraces unconventional thinking. Managers are essential to an artist’s team, and supporting managers is one of the most effective ways to support our artists,” he says. “This is not just an exciting step for me personally, it’s an opportunity to become part of the long-term infrastructure that supports artists in NZ, helping local music resonate far beyond its place of origin.”
