SOUNZ are looking for proposals for a commission to be performed in October 2023 by Orchestra Wellington and Arohanui Strings at the Michael Fowler Centre in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.

This commission is an opportunity for a composer to create a work of 4-5 minutes which will need to have separate parts at an appropriate level for Arohanui Strings – a music education programme based in Lower Hutt. All experience levels and backgrounds are encouraged to apply, and proposals for compositions can include traditional melodies and musical forms. The composer will receive a commission fee of $2,000.
