It was a long night but a strong night for Sir Peter Jackson and his team at the first of the two-night presentation of the 2022 Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Jackson’s enormous television documentary The Beatles: Get Back won five awards, including two Emmys for Jackson himself – for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series and for Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program. 

Awards for Outstanding Sound Editing For A Nonfiction Or Reality Program (Single Or Multi-camera) also went to The Beatles: Get Back (Part 3: Days 17-22) including a number of Kiwis among:

Acclaimed Kiwi choreographer and dancer Parris Goebel grabbed another Emmy for our team, hers for Outstanding Choreography For Variety Or Reality Programming, with the opening routine for Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3, and sound editor Ryan Cole got a nod for his work on hit TV show Stranger Things.
