NZ On Air dropped quite a bombshell in the organisation’s regular newsletter on March 3, with the announcement that David Ridler, who has been Head of Music for the last six years, has resigned from the broadcast funding organisation.
Ridler will be leaving his role by the end of April but says he will retain an advisory role for some months after that.
‘We are very sad to announce the resignation of our awesome Head of Music David Ridler. David has been a key member of our senior leadership team since returning to NZ On Air in 2016 (yes he liked us so much he has worked for us twice!).”
NZ On Air CEO Cameron Harland says he will be hugely missed.
“David has made a massive impact in the role. He has a real passion for the music mahi, and a wonderful personal style that makes him so popular to work with. He leaves a legacy of success, and a team dedicated to continuing the good work.”
David is leaving to pursue private interests and to spend some more time with his 3-year old daughter, but will continue on contract with NZ On Air to assist with transition and future strategy.’
NZ On Air are now recruiting for the Head of Music role. You can read the job description here.
