Girls Rock Aotearoa has announced that applications are now open for To The Front Pōneke 2025. The five day programme will run from June 30 to July 4 at Massey University, Wellington | College of Creative Arts.

To The Front is open to youth aged 12-17 who identify as women, intersex, trans, takatāpui, or gender-diverse. Participants will learn to play instruments, form bands, write original songs, and perform in a showcase, all with the guidance of professional musicians in a inclusive environment. In addition to collaborative learning, they’ll take part in workshops on DIY merchandise, songwriting, and performance skills, while enjoying afternoon performances from local artists.

Also running at the same time the Pathways programme is for 16-20 year olds who have previously participated in To The Front as a camper. During the week Pathways participants take part in a range of activities including creating a Pathways band, helping with the running of the TTF Programme, learning about various aspects of the music industry and talking to industry professionals! Contractor and volunteer mentor applications are also open.
