NZ On Air Music has released the results of their May 2020 NewMusic Singles funding round, and it’s an end-of-financial year bonanza with 40 artists/tracks included. The agency also announced upcoming changes to their funding criteria starting from the beginning of June.

In the first major update to these criteria since 2010, the focus has been on both better reflecting the current musical landscape and adding more criteria options. NZOA will publish more information on May 28 – watch this space!

The May 2020 panel comprised Aaron Gardiner (The Hits), Ben Lawson (Red Bull Music), Marty Hehewerth (The Edge), Harriet Robinson (Radioactive FM), Shahlin Graves (Coup De Main), Charlotte Ryan (RNZ Music) and Jeff Newton (NZ On Air).
