Only three months after news broke that it was on the market, Auckland’s most legendary pub rock venue The Kings Arms Tavern has sold for $7.4 Million to a developer.

According to owner Maureen Gordon, there are still about 16 months of business as usual left for the Newton venue – which should mean that you can book in KA gigs through until March 2018.

Now in her 80s, Gordon says it was a good time for the family to sell, though she felt for musicians and punters. The building itself may yet be preserved, but it’s unlikely that the development will include plans to keep the venue going.
