Depot Sound is staging the 6th annual Schools Songwriting Competition this October, expanding it from Auckland’s North Shore schools-only to include all Intermediate and Secondary students across Tāmaki Makaurau.

Along with the widened entry pool the judging panel this year is international, with three Los Angeles-based music professionals from across the music industry including a film and TV music supervisor and publisher. Beyond the prizes the competition is about creating opportunities, building confidence, and connecting young songwriters with industry pathways.

There is a Junior and a Senior division with winners in each receiving two days of free professional recording time at Depot Sound in Devonport, and having the option to be represented by LA-based sync agency Koze Music.
