With a live video stream presented by 95bFM Breakfast’sRachel Ashby and Zoë Larsen-Cumming, the first-ever SRN Awards was a nationwide celebration of those artists who energised Aotearoa’s student radio airwaves in 2021.
The show was simulcast on member stations on December 11, with each presenting a pair of trophy awards for outstanding contribution and for the station’s most loved track, wrapped up with the overall SRN picks and Top 10 for 2021.
Heading down the country from Auckland the awards went to:

Outstanding Achievement Award: Girls Rock/To The Front
The posthumous Flying Nun album ‘III’ by Tāmaki Makaurau’s Milk, aka Reuben Samuel Winter, was recognised with four awards (including #1 on the 2021 SRN Top 10), and accepted with an inspirational speech from his mother Iona Winter.
