What’s your name, where are you from and how did you get into photography?

Bevan Triebels – Christchurch – I got into photography about 10 years ago when I got myself a DSLR camera for a holiday, and when I arrived back in Christchurch I found that I enjoyed taking images. A couple of friends who are very good photographers said I had a bit of an eye for it, so I took their advice and became a full-time photographer.

What’s your philosophy around taking photos?

I’m wanting to capture a moment in time, showing the essence of a live performance. I am looking to always learn, improve, gain new skills and become proficient at capturing imagery.

Which Kiwi act do you enjoy taking photos of most and why?

That is a hard question as there are so many outstanding musicians in NZ, so many that I enjoy making images with so I can’t pick one.

If you could pick one camera, one lens and one flash, which ones would you pick, and why?

I don’t use a flash for music photography so I won’t pick one of those. A camera, well I guess what I use now. as I know how to use them which is a Canon R6 and a Canon 24-70.
