Postponed last year due to Covid restrictions, the very special live concert performances of Mansfield – In Her Own Words have been confirmed for two new dates in June 2021.
Curated by Charlotte Yates and released in February 2020, the compilation album ‘Mansfield’ finds a suitably fine collection of NZ musicians interpreting the words of author and poet Katherine Mansfield into contemporary music.
Mansfield – In Her Own Words is a live concert version of the album, and will see live performances of each of the album’s 12 poems/tracks. Artists including Anna Coddington, Lawrence Arabia, Lontalius, Mel Parsons, Will Ricketts and Toby Laing, Lorina Harding, Charlotte Yates with Darren Mathiassen, Show Pony and Johnny Lawrence, The Bats, Julia Deans, French For Rabbits, Tusiata Avia and Delaney Davidson are all set to take the stage.
The live performances will be linked by narrator Miranda Harcourt who will also read some of Mansfield’s letters. The performances will take place at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington on June 14, and the Bruce Mason Centre in Auckland on June 20.
