NZ On Air Music have announced the February 2025 New Music Single funding decisions, that will see up to $11,000 allocated to 31 songs by local artists to be released in the coming months.
This first New Music Single funding round of the 2025 calendar year had 168 eligible applications, with seven first-time NZ On Air New Music Single recipients among the 31 funded tracks. The funding supports artists’ recording, video and promotion costs – with the aim of helping their work reach the audiences of Aotearoa and beyond.
The judging panel were: Anna Loveys – SoundCheck Aotearoa; Aneeka Moheed – 95bFM; Charlotte Ryan – RNZ; Joost Langeveld – Big Pop Studios; Karl Lock – JB Hi-Fi; Mikhal Norriss – NZME; Jeff Newton – NZ On Air. The next New Music Single round will open on Thursday 20 March, closing Thursday 3 April.
