SAE Auckland And Serato Join Forces

SAE Creative Media Institute (SAE) is proud to announce an industry partnership with renowned audio software company Serato.

The partnership brings together two globally recognised and highly reputable organisations – both keen to feed the bustling audio and music industry and share best practice in education.

A key component of the industry partnership will be the SAE-run Principles of Professional Audio workshop series, a customised course developed specifically for SAE staff to undertake on-site at the Serato premises. This will be run by SAE’s music production lecturer Dave Chechelashvili.

“It’s exciting to be connected with SAE,” said Serato’s Chief Technology Officer Gary Longerstaey. “We’re looking forward to any opportunity where we can support each other’s organisations and the awesome work we both do.”

As well as shared opportunities for SAE and Serato to provide expertise across both organisations, Serato will be invited to showcase their equipment to SAE students and staff.

“It’s a chance to show off the amazing software that Serato has created to the next generation of audio engineers and music producers” explained SAE Auckland Director Dr Suzette Major. “I love that the headquarters of such an unrivalled music software company is based right here in Tamaki Makaurau. Our SAE students and staff will hugely benefit from this industry partnership.”

SAE Auckland’s diplomas and degrees in music, audio and screen are highly sought after with the next trimester starting Monday 20 February. “There’s already a waiting list to enrol into our music production courses”, said Suzette, “which is not surprising given SAE’s reputation and the skills our graduates obtain.”

Since 1976, SAE has grown to become leader in creative media education. There is now a global network of almost 50 SAE campuses worldwide across more than 20 countries, including the SAE Auckland campus based in Parnell. SAE Auckland, an NZQA Category 1 EER-rated provider – the highest possible rating for a tertiary institute – teaches Diplomas and Degrees in Audio Production, Music Production and Screen Production.

Similarly, Serato has a global footprint. Since launching their first audio software in 1999, Serato users have grown into a community of millions of DJs, producers, engineers and musicians across 190 countries. The Serato story however started in Auckland, and it’s only fitting that the Auckland-based SAE campus is now an official industry partner.

The industry partnership between the SAE Auckland and Serato was signed in mid-February and takes effect immediately.
