NZ On Air Music have announced the New Music Single September 2021 funding outcomes with 41 new local songs to receive backing of up to $10,000 each to invest in the making and promotion over coming months.

With 217 applications it was the second-highest number of applications in a Single-based round in the last 10 years, says the funding agency. Among the 41 funded singles are 15 from artists receiving NZ On Air funding for the first time. 

The assessment panel for this round consisted of Alex Behan (Stuff), Jamie Stratton (RDU), Poppy Tohill (Kicking Roses/CRS), Renee Jones (Audioculture), Shawn Cleaver (George FM), Yadana Saw (RNZ) and Jeff Newton (NZ On Air).

The final New Music Single round for 2021 will open in mid-October with the deadline of November 4. You can apply here.
