Christchurch’s Sole Music Academy are running their very first songwriting competition, one that’s open to South Islanders only.

There are two categories, an open one for adults, and a second for those 17 and under. In terms of judging they’re looking for a commercial song with an undeniably catchy chorus, clear message, developed lyrics and a clear contemporary music structure.

Your videoed or recorded entries need to be submitted before May 1.
