The organisers of the Auckland Folk Festival 2017 are holding a competition for a spot in next year’s line up.

Entering the folky fray is simple:

• Read the terms and conditions (linked)
• Upload a recording of your live performance of a folk song (original or cover) to Facebook.
• State that this is your entry for the ‘Auckland Folk Festival Showcase Spot’ either in the video or in the comment section.
• Tag @aklfolkfest in your post.

Entries close on December 14, and winners will be announced via Facebook on December 20.

In its 43rd year next year, apart from performances and workshops by local and international artists, the Tui for Best Folk Album is traditionally presented as part of the weekend.
