APRA AMCOS has stripped Wellington musician Thomas Oliver of his Silver Scroll award following his public admission that he had assaulted a woman.
Oliver, who won the Silver Scroll in 2016, will have that award revoked and his name removed from the award records and trophy.
APRA’s head of NZ operations, Anthony Healy says respect and accountability are clearly stated values for APRA and the organisation is working towards meaningful positive change to make the music industry a safer and more inclusive place. As part of their direct involvement in SoundCheck Aotearoa, APRA is reviewing the terms and conditions for participation in awards and programs, as well as reviewing their complaints procedures.
