NZ On Air Launches Pan-Asian Music Fund

NZ On Air Music have launched a new Pan-Asian music fund to increase the amount of quality Pan-Asian music content available in Aotearoa, and to support funded artists to connect with Pan-Asian and mainstream audiences.

The one-off fund will open on May 4 with applications required to be submitted by May 25. It was created after an NZOA Music-commissioned diversity report showed a lack of equitable representation of Pan-Asian artists in the music sector.

The fund was designed with the help of a consultation group of Pan-Asian representatives from within the Aotearoa music community.

‘Pan-Asian covers all musicians in Aotearoa who self-identify as Pan-Asian which, as defined by the M49 Standard from the United Nations, covers all of Central, Eastern, South-Eastern, Southern and Western Asia.

You can find information on the new fund on NZOA’s website and it is available in English, Mandarin, Cantonese (Yue), Hindi, Tagalog, Korean and Japanese. For any other language support or more information, contact musicteam@nzonair.govt.nz.
