The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) announced results of its 2024 comp in early May, 2025. ISC is dedicated to promoting the art and excellence of songwriting and providing a platform for both aspiring and established songwriters to gain recognition.
Winners were chosen in 24 categories ranging from Pop/Top 40 and Rock to Jazz, Country, World Music, and much more. US Christian artists Bodie Kuljian, Sajan Nauriyal and Wes Strunk were awarded the Grand Prize for their co-written song, whisper and the wind. In addition to the overall winner, first-to-third place-getters in all categories share in the prizes with Aucklander Deni Holl the only NZ songwriter in the money, placing second in the Lyrics Only section for her song Right About Now.
Other Kiwi entrants running close enough to get honourable mentions were former Midnight Youth member-turned author Jeremy Redmore (for Singalong) and Simon Stanley (Vampire Boogie) in the Children’s Music category, with Baynk (Jock Nowell-Usticke and Rutger Van Woudenberg) in the Pop/Top 40 category list with Grin. Congratulations to all.
