Girls Rock! Pōneke 2020 Applications Open
Girls Rock! Pōneke 2020 applications are open now for participants as well as paid and volunteer positions as band mentors, instrument tutors and general helpers!
Run by a team of NZ woman, trans and non-binary identifying musicians, the instrument lessons, workshops, songwriting and lots of band practice will take place at Massey University in Wellington from July 6-11, culminating in a showcase of the freshly formed bands and their new songs at the end of the week.
All skill levels, music tastes and interests are welcome. Last year’s programme saw participants travel from as far afield as Kaikoura and Whanganui to attend.
Mentors don’t need to be a university graduate or a virtuoso guitarist to apply – all musical backgrounds are welcome.
