Folk Alliance International 2019 Delegate Grant

Folk Alliance International 2019 Delegate Grant

The NZ Music Commission has announced a new Folk Alliance International 2019 delegate grant.

The Folk Alliance International Conference is the world’s largest gathering of the folk music industry and community. The annual event draws 2700 artists, as well as agents, managers, publishers, labels, festival/venue presenters, promoters and media, all dedicated to folk music. Staged each February, in 2019 it is being held in Montreal.

The grant is to facilitate solo musicians thinking of officially showcasing at FAI for the first time, or those who have showcased in the past and are wanting to strengthen and expand their networks. They will be expected to attend seminars, network with the industry and book and perform at the ‘non-official’ private showcases scheduled every night during the conference.

Applications for the Folk Alliance International 2019 Delegate Grant close November 9.

The online application form is here.

Capped at $2,500 the grant covers 50% of return economy airfares from NZ to Montréal, Canada, delegate registration to the conference, private showcasing fees, accommodation (up to 5 nights) and per diems (up to 5 days). For further information on the Folk Alliance International 2019 Delegate Grant please contact Alan Holt or Rebekah Ngatae on 09 376 0115.

NZ artists who have previously played the FAI include Erin Cole-Baker, Mel Parsons, Anika Moa, Delaney Davidson, and Marlon Williams.
