With the nation’s recent move into Alert Level Four, the Pacific Music Awards Trust has decided to postpone the 2021 Pacific Music Awards which were scheduled for September 1.
Given the restrictions on gatherings and events at Alert Levels 4 and 3, the event has been postponed until October 8. The format of the rescheduled event will remain subject to alert levels at that time.
It’s another bitter blow for the organisers of what is always a spectacular celebratory event – due to the nation’s initial Covid lockdowns the 2020 Pacific Music Awards last year were initially delayed, then pre-recorded and presented online in the first week of October.
“The Pacific Music Awards Trust extends their thoughts to Aotearoa. We are thinking of the safety and wellbeing of our communities and share our support during this challenging time. We encourage everyone to stay safe, stay home, look after your loved ones, your families and be kind to each other.”
