Ny Oh: Ny Oh EP

A beautifully packaged piece such as this will drum up anticipation from even the harshest critic, and this EP doesn’t disappoint. Ny Oh is an artist who bares her beautiful, nostalgic soul through her work. The four tracks are a record of her experiences as she’s walked the road of an artist coming to terms with and life in all its heartache and glory.

First track Bell Street and Paine is an intelligently written chronicle of the road to heartbreak. The instrumentation is minimal, with just an acoustic guitar, the vocals raw and personal. It truly is beautiful in its simplicity.

Produced and mixed by Daniel Ansell, the EP showcases the unique quality of Ny Oh’s voice, which is rich and melodic and gives you the feeling of drowning in her bittersweet offerings. The EP pays homage to storytellers, each song with its own narrative. If You Need Me, Love tells the story of loving someone even though you can’t be with them for your own good, which is relatable. It’s an EP that’s not afraid to be sad, because that’s humanity.
