Arts Foundation 2021 Springboard Recipients Announced

The Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi 2021 Springboard programme recipients have been announced.

The Springboard programme was introduced in 2020 and aims to give artists at formative stages the funding and mentorship needed to kickstart a sustainable career in the arts. Along with $15,000 in cash they are matched with a senior artist mentor from the alumni of Arts Foundation Laureates, Icons, New Generation, residency, or Fellowship recipients.

Among the six recipients are two musicians:

Reuben Jelleyman is a composer currently based in Paris. His works have been played by Ensemble Intercontemporain, the NZ Symphony Orchestra and many more. He will be mentored by 2014 Arts Foundation Laureate and composer Ross Harris.

Larsen Winiata Tito-Taylor is a multi-disciplinary artist of Ngā Puhi, Ngāti Whātua and Tainui descent. His music projects in recent years include the Virtual Shadow Ensemble, The Grow Room Collective and Noa Records. He will be mentored by drummer and composer Riki Gooch
