Course: NEW ZEALAND DIPLOMA IN MUSIC (Level 5)

Emphasis: Do you want the skills to take your music out of the garage, into the studio and onto the stage? As a music student at NMIT, create and record your own music, take control as a sound engineer, DJ our own radio show at FreshFM and show off your songwriting and performance skills at public gigs and concerts. With skilled and experienced musicians as tutors and state-of-the-art recording and performance facilities, you’ll gain a full picture of the music industry and the know-how to forge your own career through marketing and promotion.
Qualification gained: NZ Diploma in Music.
Career prospects: Discover your future as a musician, band member, sound engineer, song-writer, music producer, session musician, teacher, music management, sound technician or in other technical roles.
Facilities: Music students exclusively use our recording studios and perform with fellow students in our Johnny Cash performance theatre. Housed in our purpose-built, award-winning arts and media facility, all creative industries students come together under one roof, with the most up-to-date technologies at hand to get you started in your creative career. You bring the talent, and we’ll provide the support and expertise to help you develop it.
